Cost
Costs vary depending on the content, complexity and the
nature of the digital publication.
There are basically 2 types of publication:
-
A fully functioning totally free publication.
Any digital publication that is to be freely
distributed at no cost to the recipient will only incur a
development cost. The cost will relate to the amount of work
involved to produce the finished publication, e.g.
number of pages, images, multimedia content etc....
-
A protected digital publication which requires
the end user to purchase a code to unlock a part of the
publication.
A protected digital publication will incur a
development cost and a management fee for the DRM/PG.
Once again the development cost will relate to the amount of
work involved to produce the finished product, however it
will also relate to the agreement reached between
Digitally Published and the author with regard to the
DRM/PG management fee payable on each sale of the
publication.
Basic publication development costs start at $100
USD and the average DRM/PG management fee is 20% of the
cost of the individual publication before any localised sales
taxes are applied.
